Counselor

Hello!

My name is Lori Evans and I am the counselor for grades K-6. I have been a counselor at Meadow Heights since 2012. I have a BS degree in Psychology and Sociology from Southwest Baptist University and a MA in Community Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor.

My job is to provide guidance and instruction to students in the areas of social and personal development, academic development, and career development. I meet with each elementary class once per week. In addition, I provide group and individual counseling.

My goal is to create an environment where the kids can have fun while learning valuable skills that will benefit them as a student and in their personal lives. Some of the various topics covered in guidance lessons include personal safety, emotional awareness, study skills, working together, and career exploration.

The most repeated and most important word in my classroom and in my interactions with students is RESPECT - respect for self, for others and for our school. My classroom motto is "treat everyone how you would like to be treated". Simple, but powerful when practiced!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns that you might have.
